h2>When it comes to battlegrounds in the World of Warcraft, Warsong Gulch is one of the more enjoyable ones to participate in. WSG is essentially a Capture the Flag style match between teams of 10 Alliance and 10
Horde players.
The premise is simple. In WSG, it requires that both flags be in the same flag spot at the same time. If your flag is out on the field, you cannot complete a capture of the opponents flag. This is important when it comes to developing a strategy for winning WSG. When the flag carrier is killed, the flag drops on the ground. If a member of the capturing team picks it up, they can continue to run with it. If a member of the defending team picks up the flag, they are teleported back to their base.
The flag carrier can be in shapeshifter form, like the Druid's cat or Shaman's ghost wolf form. This makes the prime candidates to be the primary flag bearers. If you try to mount or stealth with the flag, then it will be dropped. When both flags are held, the flag carriers will receive 50% increased damage done to them after approximately 10 minutes and 100% increased damage after approximately 15 minutes. These levels of increased damaged will also slow the movement of the flag bearer. Forget about the Paladian's Bubble or a Mage's Ice Block, you will drop the flag if the bearer is the beneficiary of either spell.
There are four strategies used in WSG that have seen moderate success. The first three are more successful with premade groups, while the last is helpful with random players.
Half and Half - Simple in its approach. Half of the team protects the base flag while the other half attempt to
capture their opponent's. If the enemy gets your flag, the defenders will try to chase the enemy flag carrier down and retrieve it while rest stick to capturing their opponent's flag. The key to the success of this strategy is the attacking unit needs to work together. If they are not able to mount any kind of pressure on their opponents, it will leave more enemies available to break through your defenses.
